HR Generalist

Nexen Technology Inc. is a global organization specializing in manufacturing, designing, and distributing battery solutions for portable devices (i.e. notebook, pda, digital camera, ipod, etc...). With our headquarters in Taiwan, we have offices in the U.S., Germany, and China, enabling us to support customers in over twenty countries. This individual will be responsible for administrative support, shaping and molding company HR policies, and partnering with IT, Sales, Finance, and Operations business groups to create and maintain programs and systems that foster our culture and promote a high performing work environment that is rewarding and fun.

Essential Duties AND Responsibilities:

  • Ensures assigned organizational groups are in compliance with HR policies, procedures, and reporting.
  • Has accountability for planning and organizing all HR support activity for and in partnership with assigned organizational unit.
  • Participates in the development of HR department goals, objectives, and systems that maximize service and utility to assigned organizational units and other functions across the business.
  • Collaborates with management to integrate and upgrade programs; shares best practices so that HR can run more efficiently and effectively.
  • Stays on top of client and corporate strategy; recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of HR department and services it performs.
  • Manages interviewing, hiring, termination, promotion, performance management process, compensation planning, training, organizational design and employee relations activity for various organizational units.
  • Acts in partnership with management and corporate counsel to troubleshoot and investigate employee relations concerns; advises management on appropriate course of action to satisfactorily resolve each situation and avoid repeat issues.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with management to provide business updates, share best practices, and provide ongoing support.
  • Proactively develops programs to positively affect morale and retention.

This individual will be stationed at our offices in Irwindale, CA (15 minutes east of Pasadena on the 210). We provide a great PPO medical and dental plan, paid vacation for full time employees, and holidays.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resource Management, or related discipline
  • 4+ years of directly related experience or combined 5-7 yrs knowledge and exposure to all areas of HR required.
  • Experience with employment law and other government compliance regulation. California employment law a plus.
  • A high energy and professional "can-do" attitude
  • Strong Interpersonal skills, demonstrated oral and written communication effectiveness
  • PHR or SPHR preferred
